Shane Driver · Founder & facilitator, Satori Breathwork

For close to 30 years, my work was built around people. I worked in recruitment, listened to people's stories, helped them navigate uncertainty and built relationships through honest conversation. From the outside, I was capable, sociable and used to finding solutions.
But life has a way of exposing the gap between looking as though you are coping and actually being okay.
Over a number of years, grief, trauma, relationship breakdown, financial pressure, professional setbacks and the weight of trying to hold everything together began to take their toll. I lost both of my parents within ten months. I went through divorce, bankruptcy and periods where my mental health deteriorated significantly. I tried conventional treatments, professional support and different approaches — some helped, some did not, and at times I felt as though I was running out of options.
Breathwork was not something I expected to connect with. Honestly, I assumed it would be a bit of nonsense. I was not looking to become spiritual, reinvent myself or pretend that breathing could magically fix my life. I simply reached a point where I was willing to try something different.
My first 9D Breathwork journey was confronting, physical and deeply personal. It did not erase everything I had been through, but something shifted. I walked away feeling lighter, clearer and more connected to myself than I had in a long time. For the first time in ages, I felt genuine hope that change might be possible.
That experience stayed with me. It also made me think about the people who carry enormous pressure quietly: busy professionals, parents, men who would never normally walk into a wellness space, people rebuilding after loss or difficult relationships, and those who are doing their best but feel exhausted by their own minds.
I created Satori Breathwork to offer the kind of environment I needed: safe, grounded, professionally run and free from judgement. A place where nobody has to perform, explain everything perfectly or arrive already knowing what they want.
The word Satori comes from a Japanese Zen concept associated with a sudden moment of insight or seeing clearly. For me, it reflects those moments when the noise drops away and you reconnect with the part of yourself that has been buried underneath stress, fear and everything you have been carrying.
I do not promise that one session will change your life, and I will never tell you what your experience should mean. My role is to explain the process clearly, prioritise your safety, hold a steady space and support you in listening to your own body and experience.
